About me

I started my career in Banking and progressed to be a Branch manager but with the advent of credit scoring I felt that some of the personal decision making was taken away from me and decided on a career change in 1991 and became a financial adviser.

Initially I was a tied agent with TSB & then Halifax but I was restricted to advising on products that my employer offered and I felt that perhaps clients would be better advised if I could offer independent financial advice and for this reason I joined Abbey National Independent Financial advisers in 1994.

In 1996 I set up my own practice with DBS network (who became Sesame PLC) and then in 2006 I went directly authorised with the Financial Services Authority.

However as a sole trader I found the increasing fees, costs and regulatory regime involved in being directly regulated with the Financial Services Authority were too much of a burden for a sole trader adviser like me as it meant that I was working almost 7 days a week.

In April 2009 I therefore decided to join 2plan Wealth Management and this has taken away much of this work load and freed more time for me to see clients as 2plan place great emphasis on technology & admin support services which are unique to the marketplace.

I work from my office in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire although I have clients throughout the North of England.

I cover all areas of financial and pride myself on offering a personal service to all my clients because dealing with financial matters can be complicated in this day and age with thousands of products available, not to mention confusing terminology.
